The electrophysiology facility has been established in collaboration with the Institute of Molecular Biology and Biotechnology-Foundation for Research and Technology Hellas (http://www.imbb.forth.gr/imbb-people/en/electrophysiology-unit-home).

Current projects

  • Age-dependent changes in neuronal excitability of pyramidal neurons and interneurons (in collaboration with Dr. Domna Karagogeos)

  • Mechanisms of synaptic plasticity processes in the prefrontal cortex

  • Adaptations in neuronal excitability and synaptic plasticity in mouse models of schizophrenia-like symptoms 

  • Effects of the autophagy pathway in synaptic plasticity (in collaboration with Vasiliki Nikoletopoulou, IMBB-FORTH)

  • Effect of neurosteroids on short-term and long-term plasticity processes in the hippocampus (in collaboration with Drs. Gravanis and Charalampopoulos)
